Good to see Brazauskas keeping this topic in the headlines. Russia's response is as sad and laughable as it was predictable. Firstly, why is the spokesman for Russia's "Committee on CIS countries affairs" commenting on this when the Baltic states are not in the CIS? Or doesn't he know? Or is it his wishful thinking showing through?
Secondly, what does Andrey Kokoshin mean by calling Lithuania's claims "absurd and unlawful". Would he also call the Jews' claims on Nazi Germany "absurd and unlawful"?
As for "nationalist forces who do not want to see Russia strengthening its ties with the European Union":
1) No one has informed him that "nationalist" is no longer a dirty word and you no longer get shot or deported for being one. {PS - It meant "anti Russian". Only Russian nationalism was OK.}
2) "do not want to see Russia strengthening its ties with the European Union": shoul read "do not want to see Russia subverting the European Union and turning it, as Russia would want, into a reaffirmation of the Yalta agreement"
Russians are only good for a laugh. Idiot loser thugs. The school bully village idiot syndrome.
