Don't have their marriage certificate yet, this information came from an extract entry of birth for Maggie, born 02-05-1871 Extracted from the Register Book of Births for the District of Rutherglen in the county of Lanark. children, the if children, Toowoomba & grave. The information about her rest was taken from her grave and cemetary records about 20 years ago when you were able to access the records at a cemetary. The story about the 2 eldest boys was a "family story", however it is evident from the fact that they were both born prior to the marriage that there is possibly a reason for doubt as to their father.

Maggie was born in Rutherglen, Lanark, Scotland and was shown on the 1881 census with her family Father - Johnathan - 44 - Licensed Grocer Mother - Ann - 45 Sister - Annie Hart - 17 Self - Maggie - 9 Brother - Frederick - 8

George, Isabella and John were not shown on this, so I'm presuming were either not living at home then or were deceased. Therefore Maggie left Scotland sometime after 1881 and travelled to Australia, what I don't know is if she came alone (would that be usual for a young lady) or if any of her family came with her? She was married in Queensland in1894 I'm told (family information)
