I have a question....or an enormous ask. My great great grandfather, Arthur Wellington PALMER, is something of a mystery...and his son (my great grandfather) is almost more of a mystery! however... Arthur Wellington Palmer was born in Liverpool about 1834. His father, Frederick Palmer was a ships surgeon who died in or around Jamaica circa 1840. After Frederick's rest, Arthur's mother took him and his brother back to Liverpool. In 1853 Arthur and his brother emigrated to Australia, and after some domestic issues Arthur came to New Zealand in 1863. The last confirmed date I have of Arthur Wellington Palmer in New Zealand is 1868 plus 1 when his business partnership was dissolved. I have inherited some research notes, and it gives Arthur Wellington Palmers place of burial as Sydney, Australia. I have no idea of date, and cannot guarantee that the information is accurate. It would tie in with what I know about Arthur Wellington, however, that he would flee from conflict. I have no idea of what resources are available in Australia, but if any kind hearted person has easy access to burial records for Sydney, I would be so grateful if they could look for my Arthur Wellington PALMER............hmm buttuming he WAS buried in Sydney.
Kind regards Paula NZ
