I am trying to pursue the descendants of JAMES TAIT CAMPBELL and EDITH MARY MACMILLAN (nee FERRIE) both of Scottish origin. They are-were JOHN KENNEDY CAMPBELL, born England abt. 1923, and ALAN FERRIE CAMPBELL, born England abt. 1927. The family arrived in Australia (Melbourne, Victoria) in 1941 where James was General Manager and Actuary of the National Mutual Life buttociation of Australia Ltd until 1952. John moved up the east coast, I believe, to Queensland or NSW (also in the insurance industry I think) but Alan remained in Melbourne. I have looked in the white pages on line and but despite many attempts to contact him via letter and through a local contact I have had no response. I can only buttume that he does not wish to pursue our family tree (we can't all be addicted to it I suppose!). Is there any other known way to find siblings or offspring short of waiting until they are entered on the rest certificate? If I cannot make the connection I will lose all links with my Australian line.
There is one more chance I suppose and that is to try to find his older brother John (above) but all I have is that "he moved up north" so it could be Brisbane or Canberra or Sydney or...wherever! There must be many, many John Campbells in these areas but possibly not too many John KENNEDY Campbells. He would be 82 now so he may not be with us but if he married there may be "youngsters"! I really do not want to lose my potential Australian connections and there must be a way to locate that line - but how?
Best regards, Don Macphie.
