Adams Family 52nd reunion Adelaide 2005The descendents of the Adams family who arrived in Adelaide on the ship "Buffalo" in 1836 are reminded that the 52nd ADAMS Family Reunion will be held on Sunday...
Wondering if anyone can tell me what detail I might expect to find on a NZ Birth Certificate issued in the late 1870's early 80's. Is it likely that there would be any detail concerning the parents, in particular their place of Birth etc.? I am trying to trace the origins of a Charles Johnson and his wife Elizabeth Ellen King who married in Greytown NZ in 1877. They were the parents of my wife's grandfather a William Thomas Johnson who was born about 1880 in Wellington NZ .We know from William Thomas', Victorian Marriage and rest Certs that he came to Australia at about 2 years old so one would buttume the family left NZ about 1882 . I have been unable to find any record of either the parents rest in Australia that might have provided a lead to their birth places, and their NZ Marriage Cert of which we have obtained a copy ,unfortunately also does not provide any Birth details . I do not really wish to apply for a copy of William Thomas Birth Cert if it is unlikely to provide any detailed information on the parents.
Would appreciate any information from someone who has experience of the NZ Birth Certs around that time.
