Thanks Tony and Marg. Absolutely fascinating maps there given what I do know about where they were - puts it in perspective a bit. I am very very tempted to order one (might put it on the Xmas list I think) but it isn't really telling me what I want to know that I can see but I will play around a bit more. I really need to see it on paper as I can't get them big enough but that gave me another idea - the State Library might have one.
For Tony, yes they Mathew-Michael and Timothy CONNELLY both Lord Sidmouth 2 were buttigned to Major Druitt. They were both given a TOL for Melville and Timothy ,who was only doing 7 years, got a Certificate of Freedom but before he got it I think he had moved out to Bathurst. I am just trying to pin point when Timothy might have moved to Bathurst i.e. did he wait until he got his certificate or was Bathurst in the Melville district and therefore he could have moved any time after he got his TOL or if it was did Major Druitt have property out there too and so did Major Druitt send him to Bathurst. I also began to wonder exactly where they could go while on the TOL as Mathew-Michael stayed in Emu Plains-Penrith and claims to have had land there.
Luckily for me they featured a little in the inquiry into Major Druitt and I was able to get a little snapshot into where they were and what they were doing from the Colonial Secretary's Correspondence.
