Answers from the grave at the West Bourke Fair
Hello folks, Only three days to go to the West Bourke Local and Family History Fair. In addition to all the...

The job is getting rather laborious. Family histories listed do not necessarily have the requested name in the breastle, so there are more than one would expect under each name, although the overall proportion is the same. Really unusual names can have two entries; the one I am researching (Boykett) had none. The CD is protected against copying and pasting, even with Acrobat 7, probaly for copyright reasons, but it isn't exactly a user-friendly arrangement. There is a lot of swapping backward and forward to get each breastle, then I have to save it as a screenshot and paste it into a Word document. Books prepared for a family reunion or otherwise published by the author, are included. One I looked at yesterday only gave the author's name and suburb, and although it was published in 2003, there is only one person of that name mentioned in the online White Pages- miles away, and with a different initial. Since these books are often limited editions, they may no longer be available.

I am looking at exporting the file into Postscript, but it is probably too big for that. I will continue to process requests in order of receipt.
