John JACK and Ann (nee GARTSHORE) and their four children arrived in Melbourne Victoria as unbuttisted immigrants in July 1853 aboard the Abdalla. They remained in the Melbourne area until about 1856, then moved to Stanley, where Annie Gartshore JACK was born in Jul 1857. By about 1860 the family had moved to Oxley.
