Detective Police Officer. 1862-4 Victualler Advt. "Devonshire Arms"; Hay & Barrack St. Employed 6 T-L men on occasions 1861-1864 including a sawyer. ? Mounted Police 1865-6.
SEMPLE, Edward T, son of Charles & Elizabeth (nee Johnson), m. 11.2.1873 (Albany RC) Mary RIGNEY b. 1847, dtr. of Edward James (of Ireland), she arr. 14.1.1868 per Tartar, she was listed as a domestic servant but taught at RC school.
