Have you checked "Unbuttisted Inward Pbuttenger Lists to Victoria, 1852-1923" on the PROV site?

Searching on Ol*s*n* returns 454 results, incl. different variations, e.g. Olsan, Olsen, Olson, Olssan, Olssen, Olsson, Olsun, etc. Unfortunately none listed as Morris (there is a Matthis Ollsen arriving in 1881 but was born c1842 so probably too old).

Hi Jean, I can find 15 using the CD's Digger - Pioneer Index. Victoria 1836-1888 Surname: LACEY Given Names: John Event: B Spouse Surname-Father: Joseph Spouse...

Given he was in Victoria in 1884 (when he married), this reduces the list quite a bit. Three possibles:

MR. OLSAN, age 20, arr MAR 1881(b.1861), ARAWATA, N, fiche 176, p.8 MR. OLSEN, age 23, arr APR 1882 (b.1859), ARAWATA, N, fiche 184, p.2 M. OLSEN, age 30, arr OCT 1876 (b.1846), ALHAMBRA, N, fiche 145, p.2

(Though the last one would mean he was about 16 years older.)

The N denotes New Zealand port, though I'm not sure if this means the pbuttenger embarked in New Zealand or the ship was travelling to New Zealand, i.e. England, Melbourne, New Zealand. Perhaps someone can clarify this. The Arawata did the Melb to Dunedin run at one stage.

If you're able to check the fiche indicated, you can get further info.
