I am trying to pursue the descendants of James Tait Campbell and Edith Mary Macmillan (nee Ferrie). They were John Kennedy Campbell, born England abt.

1923, and Alan Ferrie Campbell, born England abt. 1927. The family arrived in

Australia (Melbourne, Victoria) in 1941 where James was General Manager

S.S. Bann, Greenock to Sydney, March June 1884
I have transcribed a diary kept by a pbuttenger on the above Clipper (the last full...

and Actuary of the National Mutual Life buttociation of Australia Ltd. until

1952. John, I believe, moved up the east coast to Queensland (also in the insurance

industry I think) but Alan remained in Melbourne. I have looked in the white

pages on line and located 6 A. F. Campbells but are they Alan Ferries? One does

have the first name Alan and he is ;

Alan F. Campbell 11 Norwood Ave. Brighton 3186 Vic. (03) 9592 1043 but the other just pain A. F.

It is possible that they could all be Alan Ferrie as we are looking at possibly four generations and could all be related!! The known Alan would be in his late 70's and the "others" if there are any would be late 50's, late 30's and

20's respectively. (Well, you can hope!!)

The others are;

Campbell A F 25 Morven St. Mornington 3931 Vic. (03) 5975 6335 Campbell A F 41 Head St Brighton 3186 (03) 9525 7043 Campbell A F 1a Newbay Crs Brighton 3186 (03) 9592 2711 Campbell A F 21 Avocet St Doncaster East 3109 (03) 9842 4900 Campbell A F 28 William St Preston 3072 (03) 9471 1197

Is it possible that someone has access to a phone book which would, hopefully, have their full names in to identify the above or is it possible to local call them and mention James Tait Campbell and Edith Mary Ferrie? They may even give

an email address so I can contact them! Is there access in Melbourne to the voters roll via the local council or library - that should disclose the actual names - or

maybe a trade business directory? I would be very grateful if anyone could help me out in any way with these six names - then I can get on with my life (well after locating John K. in Queensland!)

Ever hopeful,

Don.
