In answer to your other question.... I tend to use UK sites-groups to list my surname interests as all my ancestors came from there. I like Genes Reunited, a 4th cousin found me on there. I found an old message posted on a newsgroup from someone who turned out to be a 5th cousin. Another 4th cousin once removed has contacted me through either a rootsweb or gensforum surname groups... not sure which because she contacted me direct instead of through the forum. I've listed my interests on Lost Cousins, but no matches received yet.
