Steerage pbuttengers

Hi Tim

For my copy of the 1852 voyage of the Mariner to Melbourne there were apparently 2 lists at the archives. Apparently one is a boarding list done in England when the ship was taking on the pbuttengers and the other is when they disembarked in Australia. On the Victorian PRO index site my GGGrandfather is actually listed twice under different ages because of this. I suspect he put his age down to get the job-subsidy for his family and this was discovered when I ordered a copy of the pbuttenger list to clarify this apparently unknown relative.

I just did a search on the Vic PRO site for Iberia Mar 1886 and all the pbuttengers came up ...or else it was horribly crowded in the cabins. :) fiche lists cabin pbuttengers first and there should be more for steerage, as the PRO site gives fiche numbers for all the pbuttengers.
