Hi Trevor, Thank you for the offer. From a reply I received the other day it seems that Sophia was not involved in the Greycliffe accident. Perhaps she could have been involved in some other accident on the Harbour or as has been suggested, it could also have been another city.
I will have a look when I get a chance to get to Brisbane and see what I can find at the State Library.
Thanks David
BDMs?. On a number of occasions I have found rest inquests where there is no entry in NSW BDMs. The rest cannot be registered until a cause has been established. The cause is not established until after the inquest by which time the body has been interred. The Inquest then serves as a "defacto" rest Registration. Sophia Wright appears on there. All fires have a Coronial Inquest which will be indexed under F for fire in that particular year. The entry may be - Fire at 10 Downing St. Finding might read - started by person or persons unknown resulting in the rest of Cherub Bliar. The entry may not be indexed under B and it may not appear on the BDMs. sitting looking at the rest Inquest microfilm but at the same time can be very useful and rewarding. Now, I know it isn't on the internet and you can't just sit in your armchair waiting for it to appear but you will find them at State libraries, some local libraries and good family history centres.
