"Tellicherry" Bicentenary Day 10 am Sunday 12 February 2006 Campbelltown Catholic Club, 20 - 22 Camden Road Campbelltown (Entrance opposite Kosigaya Park)
Dear All, A quick update about the Tellicherry Bicentenary Day this Sunday and a rough program: We are meeting at the Catholic Club at 10 am, upstairs in the Phillip Room. There will be time for a cuppa before we hear about the historical background from our 3 speakers at 10:30. They are Joan Kavanagh (from Wicklow in Ireland), Paul Lynch and Andrew Moore. By 11:30 we will break into groups for guided tours of Glenalvon House and visiting the historic St John's Church and Graveyard until lunchtime. There is the option to stay in the club and chat with friends or family members as we have booked the Phillip Room for the day. Lunch is available at the Catholic Club where the food court is open until 2 pm and their Cafe Samba stays open all day. If you prefer to bring a picnic you are welcome to eat in the garden at Glenalvon House. After lunch Peter Mayberry will give a photo presentation on the Irish Insurgents who were transported to New South Wales with special emphasis on the Tellicherry convicts who arrived 200 years ago. We will finish at 3 pm. If you have any photos, family trees or other items you want to display there will be notice boards available. See you on Sunday.
