Wow!! I didn't know this newsgroup would be helpful. So I've dusted off what I have and am posting a more accurate and detailed information request. I know (courtesy of Sue Gemmell with much appreciation)John Charles Pulley married Elizabeth Ann Rees and came to NZ march 1884 aboard "Ionic" landing at Lyttleton. They may have had a baby daughter at this stage.Little is known but my father thinks she married and her married name was Appleby(or similar).William John (my grand-father) was birth registered at Geraldine south of Ashburton 1885. William John at some stage moved to Australia(hence me) and due to the harshness of war and depression everything went bad after the rest of his wife in 1928. The family was split up and very little was known until the arrival of the internet Which leads to what I'm hoping someone may help me with. John Charles was buried on the 17-10-1936 at Taruheru Cemetery after pbutting away in the Cook Hospital , Palmerston Rd Gisborne. His religion was Anglican. Is there a mention of children on the headstone? If any of this information sounds like it could be part of your family tree please contact me. Further I live on Magnetic Island if I can be of buttistance to anyone with a bit of footwork at the Townsville Library please let me know. Regards Glenn Pulley
