Among the 'treasures' found under a bed is a photo of and it says on the back; 'Albert Thomas GILL aged 7 months'. I guess that the photo was taken in early 1900's. The 'GILL's family came to Australia in 1853 on the Talavera and husband and wife were in their mid 20's and there were two daughters aged 3 and 1 and the eldest married into my wife's paternal line in 1883. As far as I know the GILL's did not have a male offspring and the birth of Albert Thomas in the early 1900's must have had some significance otherwise why would his photo amongst the photos of a deceased estate?. I buttume therefore that the family that came in 1853 did have after that time a son who may well have been the father of Albert Thomas. Searching NSW births is only possible up to 1905 so I deduce from this that Albert Thomas was born after 1905 which fits in with the age of the photo. I have searched all years for his possible marriage but without success. However,by going to the Ryerson Index, I found an Albert Thomas GILL who died in 1994 aged 84 which suggests a birth of 1810. I have gone about as far as I know how (or want to) with this line of research and my only desire now is to see if there are any members of his family who may still be around who would like to take possession of this photograph which is still in relatively good condition. Any thoughts or guidance? Joe
