Hi. I'm in a similar situation only my husband has a few years of experience as a mining engineer, which we are getting the skills buttessment for. But for the 6 months before we apply he will have been working as a mining foreman (deputy).
This is what I suggest you do. Check out this website, it has all the different ASCO codes found on the send occupation list (SOL) and it also has a job description.

Find a couple of job breastles from the SOL that you think resemble what you are currently doing, and then look up the ASCO code on the webpage. If you find one that fits your current job use it for when you write your write up your work experience references. See this page for details:
I suggest that you use the same job breastle as job that matched for you on the ASCO list, even if you are just putting the job breastle in brackets next to your actual job breastle. Then when describing your duties use as many of the same key words or points that were used in the ASCO code.
In my husbands case I am writing up the work experience references as it is basically the same as his resume, so I am making sure I use a lot of the same wording so it is clear that his new job is in fact on the SOL. My husband gets along well with his employers so he will just bring in the letter, have them read it over, sign it and print it out on company letterhead.
A "Final Solution" To The Illegal Alien ProblemFrank applauds the Minutemen in their march on Washington, arguing that they are not so much against illegal invaders, but are against crime. Frank then proposes his own "final solution...
Sorry I can't be more specific to your case but I think as long as your nominated occupation and your current occupation are on the SOL then you are ok. That is what the DIMA website says but I am going to check with them myself just for my own sanity.
