Hi there. We think it is going to be in the Perth area. Paul is a fabricator-welder thingie, and we have been offered a job with a reruitment agency. It was all a bit quick really, didnt know much about the immigration process etc., They offered a sponsorship on a 457. We are aged 45-46 so not much option for us on our age. Having read this site, the 457 seems the worse visa to get, but supposed to be the quickest. However, our application went in on 27th July, x rays 4 days later, and still not heard anything - thank goodness medicals werent required! I have asked a few questions on this site as to how to make our life in australia more permanent, but I am confused. I think we have to live there for 2 years then apply for something. We can only work where there is a shortage of Pauls skills. The Agency have work all over australia, so suggested we start at Perth and if we dont like it they will move us. My head is spinning with all the info to take in. The wait is driving me mad for the decision. By the way we live in North Wales at the moment. Jill
