I know exactly what you mean!!
We only told our parents but Andy's dad is a mega gob!! It didn't help when we told him we'd got the skills buttessment back and he went round telling everyone we'd got the 'visa'- you know what's it's like when you have to keep telling somebody something and it still doesn't sink in!!

Now everyone is asking. I try and sneak into the car now if the neighbours are in the garden cos' I'm sick of being asked "What you going to do if you can't sell the house?"
Hubby went for his lunch the other day and saw somebody he hadn't seen for 18 years, they turned to him and said "Oh, I see you're off to Australia then" WTF!!!
Daughter was off school for 3 days the other week and they all thought we'd gone.
And if anybody else mentions "oh,we were going to go to Australia, but it only cost å£10 then", I think I'll scream!!!
