Three years ago last week I received my Australian permanent resident visa. How times flies!
I'm an American with no desire to return to the States except to visit family and friends. Believe me, once you're gone for a while it's hard to imagine living with all the anxieties and uncertainties Americans have about the future.
The best part of living in Australia is the people. Second best part is the weather and overall quality of life. A third benefit is the proximity to Asia. I've been to China three times since I've been here and plan to go back at Christmas. I've also been to Singapore and Bali for long weekends on really cheap roundtrip fares--about $500 US.
SIR LollyPop Sender: HoneyHoneyI am a secondary school teacher last year when I was planning to apply for visa I had 2 years of experience To gain 120 points I needed to have 3 years otherwise my points...
The migration process was long and tedious; I applied not long before the war in Iraq which delayed the process considerably. Tne wait, was in fact, one of the most trying periods of my life--it's hard to live so long in suspense. For all you who are in the process, just hang in there, it's worth the wait. For those who've made it, congratulations and all the best to you here Down Under.
