Any suggestions Sender: Andy & Carla

Hi We're new to the site (although have spent hours reading other posts - oh how I wish I could write "I got it" too!!!).

We thought we had it all sorted - NOOSR had approved my teaching skills and my Aunt had agreed to sponsor us. That was until she spoke to centrelink who made sure she understood that the worst case senario would definitely happen. She is now convinced that we would bankrupt her and no matter what I say, she's decided not to.

Oh boy, did that feel like a slap round the face.

Anyway, we're now back to square one and not sure what to do now. I'm a primary teacher with 12 months experience. My husband's job 'doesn't count' as far as immigration goes. We've got 100 points (age, job & English). Any suggestions?

We wanted to live in Perth but that now seems like an impossibility. I've read thatwe may be able to get an SIR for SA but that this isn't permanent. I'm not sure what the teaching situation is like in Adelaide but hate to think that we could move out there and have to come home 2-3 years later when what we really want is to be settled permanently.

So I guess (now that i have shared my woes) is a) is the SIR an option? b) what other options do we have? c) what is the job situation for Primary teachers in Adelaide? (or anywhere else in Australia)?

Hope someone can lift this gloom - and thanks for reading so far!

geir Hi Geir Thanks very much for your latest news. I thought you had gone a bit quiet! The MP sounds like an excellent ally. If she makes...
