Hi Claire, yeah we spoke to the Principal of the Gold Coast Campus and she confirmed this to us (altho said it was 18 months!). Yeah 2 'academic' years is what they're after, and because the BSOH is a private school, they don't have the time off like the kids do!
BBC DiscussionThey can't 'make' people move anywhere. They can offer visas but it's up to individuals as to whether they choose to apply or...
So, if you start the course and take NO time out, you can apply for PR in 16 months (thought 18 so all the better! ... :) )
Another good point is to satisfy DIMIA criteria you have to do 25.5 hours per week. The hairdressing course can be done on any of the Mon - Fri days, and hours are something like 8.30am - 5.30pm, so doing just 3 days a week keeps EVERYONE happy!
School is happy (as long as you progress well and keep up!), DIMIA is happy cos your satisfying their criteria, and your happy as you only need to study for 3 days a week! Pick any 3, Mon - Wed ...... oh whatever!
(altho 1st 3 months are intensive, and 5 days!!)
4 days per week doin nowt (if you can afford it) to me is a nice 16 months in Oz!
Expensive, but nice! ... :)
