Hi George and Jeremy,

Arghhh Help with Defacto Spouse Visa
I'm sure this has been asked many times before, but my brain is a little...

Thankyou both very much for your replys.

We will be settling in Berwick about 45 minutes from Melbourne as this where we have bought a house and I will be studying there for 2 years. Our plans (and financial sums) have been based on Neil only working 20 hours a week, but then a we saw a post on BE website from a migration agent (not sure if I am able to say name so I won't just in case) saying Oz requires truck drivers.I contacted them and they said and explained our situation and they said that altho Neil would not be able to apply for the regional positions (due to our location) she would put his CV fwd anyway. They have his Cv now and say they are interested possibly for a position at one of their east Melbourne depots. BUT according to what you both have said he would not be granted a 457, am I correct? If thats the case then we will go back to Plan A working part time for a couple of years. Its not the end of the world but with 3 daughters school fees to pay for the next 2 years it would be handy to have a bit more money coming in. Just out if interest is there any other way round the 20hrs pw ie setting up your own business or something like that?Or could my 20 hrs pw be transferred to him?
