DIMAMedical Doctors Sender: mvt550
Hello. I am a GP who has just applied for and had my pre-grant for a 136 visa. So yes it is possible to apply and get a 136 as a medical doctor...

Dear TC

I sent you a quick reply today during my lunch-break at work. At the time, I did not have time to fish about in the DIMIA site for the stuff about Investor Retirement. Here is the link to it now.

Be wary of searching for "Investor retirement" on Brtish Expats, because the link above is to a new type of Invetor Restirement visa, which only began very recently and replaced an earlier model.

George Lombard is a Registered Migration Agent who makes frequent contributions to this site. He posted something about these new IR visas recently. If you search for posts by him, he mentioed these visas to someone within the last 7-10 days.

If your parents are wealthy enough to consider one of these visas, they so, then they might want to consider consulting Alen Collett in Southampton. He is a Registered Migration Agent but he is also a Chartered Accountant. His Migration Agency is called Go Matilda, which you can find via Google. I think the accountancy arm is called something like Alen Collett & Co.

If your parents wish to visit you in Australia on a more temporary basis, then the sub-clbutt e-676 visa might be a good option to consider. The electronic 676 can be found on the main DIMIA website. That allows up to 6 months in Oz. If they wanted to stay for a year, they would have to apply on paper for a s-c 676, using Form 46R which you can download from the Australian High Commission website in London.

Finally, if they want to consider a Contributory Parent visa later on (for which you would need PR but not necessarily citizenship) then you would have to make VERY sure that: 1. They would pbutt the Balance of Family Test, which is preculiar to Parent visas or all kinds; 2. They would also pbutt the stringent health-criteria for permanent migration; and 3. That you as their child can meet the minimum income required by their butturer, which at the moment is somethig between $33,000 - $34,000 of taxable income each year. The information about butturances of Support is all on the Centrelink website. (Centrelink is the Australian dole office, in case the word is unfamiliar to you!)

Cheers

Gill

Question for TonyGeorge Sender: George Lombard
Hi Tonya, First of all, you shouldn't be addressing threads to anyone in particular. If Jeremy was around he'd punish you severely :-) Second, every piece...
