It all sounds a bit weird that they are allowing a nurse to sign from abroaf (they list of people allowed to witness documents in Oz is much longer and even extends to Senior Post Managers).

To be on the safe side and to SAVE money, here is what we did for FREE.

QUOTE=minkyme29Hi everyone... Have just come back from a trip to Oz, did Perth-Freo...

We went down to the City Chambers and got a Councillor (Justice of Peace) to do it for free there.

Ring up your local council and find out where the councillor's gather in your area and ask which days they witness and sign documents. Most councillors are Justice of Peace and as they are public servants that you have voted in they have to do this service for free. We got told they only do witnessing in the afternoons and we may have to wait for a while until one of the JP's were free. Anyway, the whole thing took 30 minutes from start to finish and saved us a packet. We live in Glasgow and this process def applies in Scotland, If you live in another part of the British Isles the local cuocil will be able to advise if the same applies.
