If anyone can help with this I would be very grateful.
I am currently in Australia on a working holiday visa. I have been working in a great job and my 3 month limit expires in a few weeks time. I would very much like to continue working at this place long term and have been offered a permanent position.
I lodged a 136 MODL application 2 months ago and imagine it will not be granted until later in the year. So as things stand I would not be able to work there probably for a few months between March and whenever they grant my PR - which I know could be just a couple of weeks wait or a few months!!
So the people I work for are prepared to sponsor me for a 457 so that I can carry on working there until my PR comes through.
I have read many times that the granting of a visa cancels out all previous visas - even if still valid by dates. Presumably, if and when my 457 is granted, it cancels out my 417 (WHV). No problem. BUT... 1. Do I have to inform the ASPC of my intention to apply for a 457? 2. If by some miracle my PR is processed before the 457 what happens?!?! Will the later 457 cancel out the PR??
Many thanks
Madhu
