Hi!
My Australian partner and I posted off our De Facto Spouse application on 7th November and have now been given 28 days by the woman processing our application to provide extra evidence with regards to the 12 month relationship requirement.
I was just wondering if this was a common occurence as it's sent me into a bit of a panic?
Shane and I met when i was on a WHV in OZ and were friends for 6 months before we became a couple. We were then together 3 months as a couple (not defacto...we lived seperately) before my WHV expired. I then flew back to the UK for 2 months to save money to rejoin Shane. So for my application our Defacto Spouse relationship commenced in September last year when I flew back to Oz and we moved in together (my parnter had taken a lease on a place for us which i then added my name to).
However, as I could legally only come back for 3 months on a holiday visa in Dec last year i had to return to the UK. We were apart for 3 months (torture!) but only because of money (I had gone back to Oz unable to work) before Shane then flew over here last march on a UK work visa.
I'm concerned because whilst my case worker has said she is in no doubt that our application is genuine she still needs more evidence. Despite the fact that we had know eachother a year and been a couple for 6 months before moving in together, she doesn't think it looks that good the way we were cohabiting for 3 months before being seperated.
I'm so frustrated! If i had stayed in Australia past the 3 months that would have been illegal, and in an ideal world money would not be an issue so Shane would have been able to join me right away.

My application was already full of evidence: communications whilst apart, joint travel-socialising, Bills in Shane's name that i've paid, joint bank account in Oz set up last Oct, letters to same address, bank statements showing that Shane's pay goes into my account, car registration transfering my dad's car to Shane etc...
We don't have a mortgage but rent my childhood home from my father who lives in spain, which I have a statuatory declaration for.
If anyone has any suggestions of anything i haven't thought of i would be so very grateful!
ThankYou!
