I've been living here in Melbourne with my Aussie boyfriend for 4 years and we have been talking about applying for a defacto visa for years and years but have kept putting it off.

Tony I agree 100% with Stubbyholder, Lacey 21 and all the others, plus I cannot imagine what the fuss is about. I looked at George Lombard's website the...

After working like crazy things for at least 2 weeks in Jan non stop we finally had it in a state where it could be handed in which we duly did. We were told when we handed it in that we could expect to be called for an interview in 6 weeks due to the number of cases they were currently dealing with so imagine our surprise when we received a letter with an interview date within 3 days of applying!

Hi All I need to clarify a few things. I recently posted a table of processing...

The application didn't include my police checks which aren't back yet and the medical which I have to have done again on Monday even though I still have valid medical results from last year (they told me last year it would be ok to use the same medical for a PR application and yet now for some reason it has changed). Hence my surprise that they are so keen for the interview to take place :P

Anyway, I just wanted to share my excitement with everybody here, I don't think there are many people on Earth who would get excited at the prospect of an interview but hopefully some people here will be able to understand this :)
