Defactotourist visa Sender: Pollyana

Oh, you're so sweet! I'm no angel, just been on the forum 2 years, and having gone through a fiance visa, and now on a spouse visa, I've picked up a fair bit of info. I don't post unless I'm as sure of my facts as I possibly can be, so you can be buttured its all kosher.

If they have 12 months of living together, she should apply in the UK - its quicker, easier and cheaper. There are a lot of posters on here who have got de facto-spouse visas for their Brit partners, while both of them are in the UK. If he can work in the UK, that will be good as he can include that in the application - it shows intent and ability to work once he gets back to Oz. Presumably they will have somewhere to live here - if they can ay they will be living with his family while they find a house - that sort of thing is good, as it shows that the family approve of the rel'ship and will help them out at frst. Both families can do Stat decs which state how you both approve and will give any support necessary.

After Finding Bert'n'Stella's recent post very useful here is the final list for my Visa Submission that will be submitted tomorrow: Covering Letter to Australian High...

Do a search for posts by mlbonner - Michelle came over on a de facto visa and has posted a wonderful list of the evidence she had - that could be a big help to them.

I have to get some kip now (even witches need sleep!) but if you have any more queries just ask, and I will see what I can do in the morning!
