I read with interest that JTFW got their visa earlier this week....congratulations by the way. Swotsmart was out in Perth also looking at obtaining a similar visa to me. Not sure what the progress is there will look out for an update.
For the first time I rang my CO, primarliy to check whether they have our medicals as we did not receive confirmation that these had been received by the LCU in Sydney.
Our Co was a very pleasant lady, but was unaware of me until ref numbers were given. Obviously I realised that my app was still in the pipeline!.
On the positive side though the CO confirmed they had our App, but stated that offshore applications are on a six month turnaround!!. I asked for any "ballpark" turnaround on mine and was told that six months was the turnaround. I mentioned that I frontloaded the app and could she confirm that they have our medicals. Thankfully she had them on file and we have all pbutted our medicals phew!!.
Timeline so far...... Company nomination approval date 26-07-06 My Frontloaded visa Application submitted 26-07-06 Acknowledgement receipt from DIMIA 02-08-06
I am concerned on three fronts.
1. My Employer who offered me the position can they wait six months??
2. We have been looking out for a rental in a particular area and they have been rare, but we have gambled and accepted a rental starting end of Sept. We really want to be able to get there and move into a property as soon as we arrive. (fortunatley we are in a position living with parents house sold so as soon as visa comes we are off within 2 weeks)
2. Do I or don't I send our belongings yet.
I am gutted that you get no specific feedback at all on turnaround, but I have faith that if JTFW & Swotsmart who both submitted theirs about 3-4 weeks before ours and one has theirs then mabey its a case of giving worst case scenario.
