Extra Baggage Allowance

There is a London number that you can ring in order to get it from the horse's mouth about whether they will give you the 40kg concession.

I enquired via IoM for my Mum, same as Bru. They could only offer Qantas and the flight was only £20 less than Singapore Airlines, but IOM did say that their contract with Qantas includes the 40kg baggage allowance.

Mum is booked with Singapore Airlines. They told me that she will automatically get the 40kg at check-in provided that:

The ticket is one-way; The visa-label says "permitted to remain in Australia indefinitely"; and The visa has not been used hitherto.

Mum can satisfy all 3 conditions so I am told there will not be a problem at the check-in. She hasn't got 40kg of luggage but she is determined to acquire 40kg worth between now and Saturday to judge from her activities in the last few days! We are going to have to take my car to the airport as well at this rate because I don't think the whole lot will go into one car!
