Anyway down to the nitty gritty:

Hysteria Heats Up
Hysteria Heats Up ,00.html 28th September, 2005 Andrew Bolt WE MUST admit we're in real strife when even Tim Flannery says Hurricane Katrina proves global...

Got to surgery asked for a urine sample, went in to see the doctor he checked the urine for sugar etc. and asked if there was any diabetes or similar in the family - which is a no. then he took my blood pressure - normal (surprising under the circumstances!!) and went through the medical form, asking questions about any of the "yes" answers i had given - such as high blood pressure in the past. Then he went on to check my height and weight. He then did reflex tests on knees, wrists and elbows, and felt around in my tummy to check my liver spleen and stomach (apparently) - he was very good at telling me everything he was doing and why!! he then listened to my chest, back and front and checked me over for any moles, varicose veins, scars etc. he also checked my hands, nails and feet for any signs of anemia, then he did the blood test. After that, he checked in my ears, down my throad and did a basic eye test. He said everything was ok, and provided the bloods and xray was ok we should be fine. My husband had his medical and failed on the eye test - he has just had laser eye surgery and his sight was not up to standard, therefore he has to get contact lenses and go see the doctor again on tuesday!!!! not too much of a set back as we are still waiting for the return of police checks which were sent off 3 weeks ago!!! so hopefully it will all come back at the same time - fingers crossed. Anyway thought i would let you know how it went, and hopefully put your minds at ease. Lastly, for those who needed to know about family history - nothing was asked about mine and my mother died of a brain heamorrage aged 33, the only thing that was asked was about the diabetes, and if there was any other ailment etc. that the doctor should be aware of. hope it helps vb2
