The visa will expire on the date mentioned in 2006 *except* if you are in Australia on that day. If so, it will...

QUOTE=LouiselondonHello All I hope I can make sense - Im still a bit confused myself!!! Im an Irish qualified hairdresser living in London aged 31. I am looking to migrate to Melbourne where I have a lot of cousins and aunts. The state of Victoria will sponsor me if I can prove Im a hairdresser. This is where my problem lies, the company who qualified me do not issue a certificate of qualification instead they offer a "Statement of training" also, I cannot prove I worked for 6 years (only the five years it takes to qualify in Ireland) as the company I worked in here in London has now closed down. I can get a friend who owns his own salon to give me a reference to make up the 6 years but I am too nervous to do so. In the meantime, I am working 20 hours per week and it has been suggested that I work a full year before I start my application and then another year to get my 12-18 months recent work experience as the application process takes 12 months - It costs me more in childcare than I earn and cannot afford to work for much longer - has anybody got any suggesions? My husbands skill is no good and Im getting desparate to get on with my application

I would say talk to a Migration Agent some will give free advice to start with and tell you if its worth you going on.
