Hi,

I'm new here (was given the web address from Go Matilda forum) and after a wrong turn and a false start think I've got to the right place now.

I am looking for help-advice if you would be so kind as to help me out.

I was in australia on a WHV in 2003 and ever since I've been trying (unsucessfully) to find a way to return permanently.

I was a senior pension administrator and am now an administrator for a Transport & Logistics company - neither of which will do me any favours in the eyes of migration. I had a short (5mth) stint trying to train to be a hairdresser so I would have a job on the list but it was't for me (and yes I do want to migrate THAT badly but you have no idea what it was like working there on å£80 pw!).

As I am only 23 I have time (hopefully!) on my side so what would you recommend? I would like to qualify in something-anything quickly so that I can start gaining the work experience needed for the application. I have a cheek wanting things quickly when I see how fast the past 3yrs have went in, if only I knew then what I know now!

On the Go Matilday forum someone mentioned PR on the back of a 2nd WHV. I am eligible for a 2nd WHV as I worked with livestock on my 1st WHV. Does anyone know any further details about this, is it a valid option?? I can't find anything on DIMA about it but that is more than likely me and my stupidity when it comes to computer things.

I have job offers but they are all for cattle stations which I don't think would be of any use.

Also when I was on DIMA looking (again) at student visas I found out about Australian Apprenticeships which I never knew about before. From what I could find out you can get a student visa for up to 5yrs to take part in a clbuttroom and work placed apprencticeship in a job where they have skill shortages. After you are qualified then you can apply for PR. Is this correct or have I got the totally wrong end of the stick? Surely it can't be that easy-straightforward? If anyone could shed any light I would really appreciate it.
