Dear samantha
i sat in the exam some 10 months back as its not my mother language as was a necessary requirement for Engineers Australia for my buttessment. Here are few tips that may help. order the practice material from Britishcouncil website. and make sure you place your hubby in a quiet room with blank answer sheets which by the way you should get copy from the test book. he should listen to the Cd and then try answering the questions. please make sure he should not practise with headphones as in actual test there might be loud speakers in the exam hall. turning on the computer's speakers is therefore a good idea. if he is appearing for a genereal training module try giving him topics from general life other then sample ones given in the book. try to make the compositions precise and within the word count limit. if you think he is prone to make some mistakes while writing , ask him to construct simple sentences rather than fancy ones with conceptual understanding. Example the difference between "practice" and "practise" and "build " and "built" etc. its a pretty straight forward test with not much to worry about. however concentrating on bringing the desired score may have adverse effects. hope this will help you some what.
