OK here is what will help you if you have nothing in joint names. Any documentation proving that you have a long and...

Hi everyone,

It looks like the situation for IT Gurus is improving as the news around the world suggests. But I still wonder why the countries who are offering points based immigration system have not done any efforts for their IT Skills shortages. As far as I can see its only New Zealand who offers you Bouns points and also puts you in the Priority Application if you are a real IT Professional with the right combination of skills + qualifications + experience.

Surprisingly, even the countries who have no proper points-based system are calling for the Professionals of certain groups. Of course Information Technology is one of those: for example Irealand, see this fromeurope.htm

Some of the intersting news items I saw are :

1. IT lobbyists pressuring US Congress to raise H1-b visa limits 990076C4A8

Hi Nirakar The ACS have a policy that part-time work, to be counted, needs to be at least 20 hours per week. DIMIA has legislation that requires paid send experience to be...

2. IT, telecomms salaries rising, report says 7D007B2A34

But its Australia who seems to have enough IT Guys in their states. Strange! at a time when the world is gearing up to catch to IT people ACS (Austrlian Computer Society) is suggesting DIMIA to reduce the intkae of professionals. Do they really have enough professionals or is it something politicaly motivated stuff ?

BTW, the question is if Australia is over-loaded with too many IT People then how come the ACS comes up and tells you that the Professionals in Australia are seriously "under-trained" ? As this report suggests:

ACS survey reveals IT workers 'hideously under-trained'

Cheers :) Ghanghro.
