Ah! My understanding was that your degree *had* to be in computing science or something vaguely related. I will re-read the guidelines.

I am actually currently working in an information security division in the University of London and can do a part time MSc in Information Security whilst I am working here. Problem is that IS is perhaps not general enough for the ACS and I was really looking at getting back to Australia in the next year or so. It will take 2 years starting in September to do this MSc and I really don't want to wait that long.

Ideally, I would find someone to sponsor me - I have got plenty interest in my resume from Australian employers. It seems, though, that without the paper qualifications, negotiations always break down because DIMIA cannot be satisfied.

Also, MCSE etc are completely unrelated to what I actually do and would involved heaps of effort and retraining. I am a Unix-Linux network administrator. Unfortunately, though, the ACS do not recognise any of the industry qualifications which are relevant to my skillset. It's frustrating, because there are lots of Linux jobs available right now in Australia and I just can't seem to break this Catch 22 I find myself in.

Thanks, Jeremy, for the useful pointers.

One more question, cos people seem to be very up-to-speed around here. Would...
