The airwaves turned blue today after broadcaster Darcus Howe and comedienne Joan Rivers clashed over accusations of racism live on radio.
Joan Rivers took exception to Mr Howe's accusations of racism The row happened on Radio 4's Midweek programme after Mr Howe suggested Rivers had a problem with the term "black".
US star Rivers responded by screaming at Mr Howe and branding him a "son of a unpleasant woman".
The Threat of Quiet IslamThe Threat of Quiet Islam By Barbara Stock 10-19-05 Just about every conscious human in the free world knows about Islamic dissolution planters, train planters, and night club planters...
The comments followed an exchange of barbed remarks earlier in the programme. During a discussion about race issues, Mr Howe remarked: "Since black offends Joan..." The comment caused Rivers to erupt in fury.
"Just stop right now. Black does not offend me," she said. "How dare you say that? Black offends me? You know nothing about me, you just sat down here, how dare you?"
Ed. They misuse the term "racist" and throw it around like confetti, all the while being utterly racist with their anti-white multiculturalism. Stand up, take a stand and fight back, as Joan has done and tell professional black arseclowns like this Howe character to get stuffed...
Mr Howe clarified his comment by saying that "the use of the term black" offended Rivers.
"The use of the term black offends me? Where the hell are you coming from? You've got such a chip on your shoulder," she yelled.
"I don't give a damn if you're black or white, I couldn't care less, it's what the person is. Don't you dare call me a racist."
Rivers then rounded on Mr Howe over his failings as a father. He has seven children by four different women and was on the programme to talk about his forthcoming Channel 4 documentary, Son of Mine.
The film explores Mr Howe's relationship with his 20-year-old son, Amiri, who has been in trouble with the police on several occasions.
Rivers told Mr Howe: "You had a child, you left him... you married a woman, you deserted her... where were you when he was growing up, until he was eight years old?"
Ed. LOL! go Joan go!
Presenter Libby Purves tried to defuse the row by pleading with Howe: "Can't we just say that you don't think Joan is a racist ?"
But Howe replied: "I don't know whether she is a racist or not. I don't care."
Ed. Then don't go round making wild buttumptions and accusations!
Purves then ended the row by turning to her third guest, photographer Andrea Jones, and asking: "Shall we talk about plant photography?"
