I guess at the end of the day I will just have to do what everybody has suggested since Day 1 of our adventure (including BE posters, our agent, the famed Peter Bollard in Sydney and Dr Martha Baz also from Sydney) and that is to go for the medicals and find out
I'm sure you can understand that having finally lodged our visa application, received acknowledgment and booked medicals, we're now at the stage where we're thinking "this is getting very real!"
The prospect of a new life in Oz is a real one and in truth the only thing that could jeopardise this are the medicals
signing pbuttports Sender: steve`oWho can countersign my application? After you have completed the form in full, including section 9, section 10 should be completed and signed by one of the people below, or someone of similar standing in...
I wouldn't say that my kidney condition is insignificant, but at the same time it doesn't affect my daily life in anyway and the prognosis is that this will remain the same for the next 10 years at least.
Alarm bells start going off in my head when I read about protein levels etc but stop ringing when I read about blood pressure and other symptoms of 'kidney issues'...because I don't have any of them!!?? BP readings in last 7 yrs have been between 105 and 128mmHg and there have been no other symptoms apart from the aforementioned protein which is why I visit a specialist every 6 months for monitoring. Again, there has been no deterioration in 7 years. if anything, protein levels have reduced. Go figure!!
I guess what I'm trying to do is to second-guess the outcome of the medical which in all honestly is not something I should be doing
I know that each case is buttessed on it's merits, my wife is a MODL nurse and I'm an IT Project Manager so we must at least have a good chance.
Time will tell I suppose. There's one thing for sure...if you don't buy a ticket you don't win the lottery!
Hope everything works out for you and your Mum
Best Wishes
