Now I know this has probably been asked a thousand times so I am sorry if its already been answered. I searched and trawled through a lot of helpful stuff, but nothing quite answered my query exactly ;)
so I figured that I would ask and see what happened ;)
OK my wife is from Queensland and so I have already obtained my first stage spousal visa, and have ...almost ... sold our house ( hoping to exchange tomorrow and move on Sunday :o ) We plan on staying in the UK for one last Christmas with my Dad and then head over when the air fairs drop a little in Jan.
So my question is :
How do I go about moving my money ? what is the process for doing this ? what are the taxes incurred ? if money is all in my wife's name ( who is Australian ) will this be better or worse tax wise ?
I am hoping to chat to the Commonwealth bank in London tomorrow and they may be able to clear this whole area up. I have to say the more I read about it the more confusing it seems to me ;)
TRA buttessment worries Sender: George LombardHi Dejags, Mick is applying for buttessment as a computer support technician - a job which normally requires a screwdriver - however your husband probably just works with his eyes glued...
any advice would be greatly appreciated and a carton of beer to whoever can clear it all up when I get over there :p
