Yes, I am paying tax in my home country. I don't mind paying taxes. If I have a proper job in OZ, I would be more than happy to pay tax. As to your question of why my girlfriend and I would like to stay in OZ, I guess the reason is because Australia is such a beautiful country. And the weather is so much more pleasant that the place I am currently staying. Of course, OZ has a lot of other opportunities, etc.

I guess time is against me. Dare I move to OZ alone, look for a job, stay put for 2 years and marry later? I think I have save enough for one person to live and stay in AU but not two.

I bet that if I have a 1 or 2 year extension, I am pretty confident both of us will be able to make it there. My girlfriend is an accountant.

Do you know if it is possible for me to apply as a spouse visa? ie.. my own visa expired and my girlfriend or wife applied for a visa and I go in as her spouse?
