NZ job offer

Ian, I suggest you apply **now** as the pbutt mark *might* change by Jan. Raising the pbutt threshold has been rumored for a while now. If you have the chance to go now, grab that chance, don't bu**er about. Are you absolutely sure about the 100 points you have? As long as you are, get that application in. You can always add a job offer to the application later if it becomes necessary.

Depending on a job offer from a friend is risky as your friend will more than likely need to justify why the job should be offered to you as opposed to a local. The justification process can be involved and they might not be aware of this. If it fails to impress the NZIS, and you find yourself later depending on those points, you might have lost the chance of getting in.

It depends on the number in the pool at the time. Some people have have been fortunate, others not so fortunate. I'd be surprised, as long as all goes smoothly, that come January you aren't going to NZ with a nice shiny visa in your pbuttport!
