Dear Jeremy,
You are spot on, as always, with your replies.
1& 2. I understand that the current position of 2-year residency stays until changed, but since the BILL has been introduced, it is likely that it will become a LAW within, at the most 1 year. I would still not have completed 2 years by then, so it seems like we will have to plan for at least 3 years before we can apply and consider ourselves citizens of this beautiful country.
Is the above true? Or in your opinion and in your long experience, it may be possible that the MPs in general will be considerate about their future citizens, especially those who have already LANDED. (And deemed that existing provisions of law regarding Citizenship to be applicable to them).
3. What are the possibilities that the bill may be amended in the committee? Does it normally happen? Or is it a thing having remote chance only?
4. I agree with you that I can't complain, but I was just hoping that MPs in general will be considerate and think on this issue for the cases which have already been approved or landed. What is the normal-general thinking here?
Regards
