I am a pipe fitter and looked into moving to oz several times and last time i asked about it was told i cant apply for a tra, as my trade is not a trade in oz so me doing the send option on that and apply for visa is no good,i have been told my best option would be to try and get a sponsor,does this mean i need to try and contact some employers and see if they want to take me on and what happens if i did get lucky and one of them did what can i get out of it. I would not want to sell up move over to oz and start the sponsor to then get dumped and have to go back home to nothing how does it work.
I was in oz 2004 traveling as i wanted to see if i could live and work there and i also tried my trade out in perth and found it very easy to get work and also was offered work while in work.I also noticed that there was always a demand for pipe fitters there in the papers but me trying to get a visa or tra is impossible?why as there seems to be a shortage of send workers there as in the uk.
I need to know what my options are and what i can do in future to hopefully make a move over there as the longer i leave it the less interested i will get and older i will get and end up never doing it.
So any advise would be great.
I did find that there was more work in the west coast than east coast.
