Hi George,

Defacto Visa Application done finally Sender: Teliko21
Hi everybody! I've been living here in Melbourne with my Aussie boyfriend for 4 years and we have been talking about applying for a defacto visa for years and...

Thanks for your feedback you have been very useful - I went to see an immigration agent who said I could not apply for the visa based on the work I had done in a permanent position. I mentioned I had done contract work and said I could use it, when I pushed him on finding out how it was calculated i.e. is 20 days contract work = 4 weeks or just under 3? His answer was "I don't know" word for word. This was after I had sent them my permanent work experience and told to get a police report application form and get my birth certificate-diplomas-pbuttport as well as drive a 200 mile round trip to their offices. So I left without an answer to my problem.

To get back to the point, my invoices are fairly simple they state the amount of days worked and the start and end date of those dates. If I worked on the principal I worked every week for an entire 14 month (to be safe) period, correct I would only have approx 12-14 hours a week which is not enough.

However, because my invoices have start and end times and I can weed out the entries that do not total 20 hours per week in the time frame, but do I count a working week as Monday to Friday? It seems stupid but it does make a difference.

Thanks,

Gary
