Yippee I Got It!!!!!!!! Sender: karmagirls
Well just wanted to share with anyone that cared... I got my visa through today. I have been stressing out for the last two weeks because...

Depends on what you want to ship actually a 20ft containers holds on average 25 to 30 CBM of cargo a 40ft container holds on average double then that just to give you a idea.

No I deal in metric and you in imperial so to convert Cubic Meters to Cubic feet, mulitiply with 35.3145 Cubic feet to Cubic Meters, multiply with 0.028317 Pounds to Kilo's, mulitply with 0.4536 feet to meters, multiply with 0.3048

So if you want to do a 20ft or 40ft container and keep the cost down ie loading it yourself that would be a cheaper way of doing your freight. If you realise that your freight is in a vessel that can have 6 meter swels on the ocean, you also realise the better you secure your cargo the more likely it is that it arrives in one pc Through out the container you will find catches that allow you to secure your cargo with a rope or straps. Doing it this way you will pay for a truck (most likely a flat deck truck with your container on the back) to collect an empty container and show up at your home. You might need to ask the local police station for a permit as it will take a few hours to load the container on the back of the truck. This way your also in control of which shipping line your using. A fast shipping line is expensive a slow one is cheap. There are other things you need to know about which I can tell you in

If you want someone that comes in packs your cargo which is the more expensive way of doing this you contact various local international packing companies and compare quotes.

If you have not sufficient cargo for a container you will need to sent the cargo on an LCL basis. This means you will need to pack it very well, or get someone to pack it correctly and sent it off. Again my advise is to compare several quotes.

I also strongly advise you to look into insurance and make sure that you have in writing from the origin port what the local charges in AUS will be.

As said if you want more advise you have my work email.
