Spouse Citizenship Sender: Wakkas

Hi

Wanted to know if anyone have any experience on this or can forward me to the thread if it is already discussed:

My wife is on Spouse visa and will get her permanent residence visa in coming Feb. We are now living in US (as we had to move 5 months back here because I got a good job offer here). Now she will complete her 2 years as my spouse in Feb. and we did talk with the immigration officer and he said that she will get approval letter and then we have to fly to Australia to get her PR visa stamped.

My partner is Type 1 Insulin dependent diabetic. We took the consultation letters from his specialist sent to his GP for the last 12 months to the Medical, we...

policy-overview-conferal.htm#b, if this pbuttes on time i.e. 26th Jan. then it says that a spouse can be exempted from residencey requirement if she is not in australia due to his spouse work.

Is this a new regulation or was it there before too? if it was then is there anyone who has gone this path? We are going to have a child in US by end of november (who will be US and AUS citizen by birth and by decent) and we dont know after how many years we will be moving back. So am i reading the rule right and can apply for her citizenship with the excemption straight away?

thanks for the help in advance

Wakkas
