A statutory declaration is a letter from you witnessed in front of a judge (in UK) saying something like
I lovelove do solemnly swear that the statements contained below are true.
punch cards from 1960-1962 and my duties were picking up the little bits and making them into a pile so that we could have a party with them at
Signed lovelovex Dated xx-xx-xx
And then the judge-court officer will stamp it and date it. You will have to stand in court, swear an oaht on the bible similar to when giving evidence, then read the statement to the judge, then the judge signs it and you are on your way.
That is a stat-dec. The sample wording is on this forum somewhere - Ive lost mine so cant send you them sorry. But seek and ye shall find.
I think the DIMIA website or maybe booklet 6 (for SK47 send 136 independent) has a list of who are authorised to sign these - but mostly its people like judges and their equivelants (Justice of PeaceMagistrate ) ACS will accept lower levels of people signing them from memory but if you get a JP or Magistrate equivelant in US to do it then you'd be safe and it'll be usable for the dimia stuff later.
