And then the judge-court officer will stamp it and date it. You will have to stand in court, swear an oaht on the bible similar to when giving evidence, then read the statement to the judge, then the judge signs it and you are on your way.

I think the DIMIA website or maybe booklet 6 (for SK47 send 136 independent) has a list of who are authorised to sign these - but mostly its people like judges and their equivelants (Justice of PeaceMagistrate ) ACS will accept lower levels of people signing them from memory but if you get a JP or Magistrate equivelant in US to do it then you'd be safe and it'll be usable for the dimia stuff later.
