Well, they ask you on the forms if you ever had hepabreastis. As I had hepabreastis A during childhood, I declared it. Then it seems that the standard procedure is to do a LFT (liver function test) where they measure your liver enzymes level (ALT and AST) plus others I don't recall. In my case the ALT levels were mildly elevated with the first test above 80 (some alcohol the night before) and the second one above 60; the 'normal' (some dispute that) range is in between 0-40 iu. They sent me to a gastroenterologist for a diagnosis and after some investigations (including some weird test where they play with a 'mouse' over your belly and look on a screen), the man in charge said that there were some very small droplets of fat on my liver and that I should avoid fats and do some exercise.
After 2 weeks of diet I did a third test for my own peace of mind and the Alt was 44... +4 probably due to the stress level of waiting for a CO :-).
